Finally, one thing done

So I did NOT finish the Blood Song outline yesterday. I got super confused on the final scenes between the guys because I’m tripping over my own plotlines. I got so blocked and confused that I decided to try and get some editing in another book to clear my head, so I pulled up the last version of Fragmented Soul and even though I couldn’t even remember the names of the characters*, I finally finished the last two scenes of the book. It was so easy, I think maybe because I was feeling the same exhaustion as Vael did at the end of the book. I was like “let me tell you about how tired I am!” and got the thing done. Finally, one book completed out of all the ones that have like 2 scenes left to be finished and ready for publishing.

But now I can’t even remember if I had finished the first pass editing on that book. I think I did, but because I can’t keep decent editing notes or put any kind of order in my life, I’ll have to look around to see if I did any kind of editing in it. I’m gonna have to do a last pass editing either way, so it doesn’t worry me too much, but damn, I wish I kept my writing files and progress in better order. It’s all a mess in my head, it’s kind of a miracle that I ever manage to finish and publish any books at this point.

Oh, and talking about my head being a mess, that story that I was talking about yesterday finally became clear in my head. And that was because it’s not a new story at all. I kept thinking about it because I’ve been doing some notes here and there on The Floating World, and working on unifying Shattered with Floating and making sure they happen in the same world. Well, I remembered an old character that I wanted to add in to the New London story but I couldn’t remember much about it. Because I didn’t want to make it all anew I went back to my old Deviantart account to look for his character design and I realized that the New London story I was fleshing out was me remembering all the stuff I had planned for an old story I called Protection From Death.

It happens on the Floating world, and it’s not too hard to add it in, and yesterday I even pulled up an excel file and used that to make a kind of matrix where I can see the events of everything happening at a set time. It happens a while after Luminosity, like maybe by a few hundred years, but I think I can make up something to make it so that the characters from Luminosity can appear. The dark prince and Kaleb will be the easiest to deal with, and I don’t know if I want to bring in any others. Maybe Pip and the older brother. But it’s kind of exciting that according to what I could flesh out yesterday, both Shattered Innocence and Protection From Death happen concurrently. That is exciting, even though I think it’ll be a bit complicated to pull off. If I am not too exhausted it should be a fun thing to try out.

But I will probably be exhausted.

*This is normal. Every time I finish a book/story/fanfic I immediately forget everything about whatever I wrote, especially the names of the characters. There are tons of my stories that I have forgotten about and it regularly happens to me that when I get a random like on an old fic, I have no idea what it is about.
