Actually, no

So, I take back what I said about Fragments being good. It’s actually not and I’m happy it’s only just a freebie that I’m gonna offer to build up the mailing list.

Man, I’m barely on page 50 and the “ew this sucks” feeling is hitting me full on. It’s crazy.

I think it really shows that I was only planning to do a 20k reader magnet to put on bookfunnel that spanned to 90k when I added in all the other stuff. Perhaps if I had added in maybe another 30-40k, it would have felt a little less rushed, but at the same time… I feel it’s ok the way it is. Like, I don’t want to get bogged down with extra description or exposition if it’s not absolutely necessary. Honestly, that’s one of my least favorite part of the fantasy books that I’ve read*. They all seem to have way too much stuff that didn’t really have to happen. Or that I didn’t really have to go through. Stuff that didn’t matter to the plot but also wasn’t fantastical and awe inspiring.

ETA: I got 40 pages edited on Fragments, so I’m sitting at around halfway through the book and it’s not so bad after a few complex parts. I stand by what I mentioned before, perhaps the book should have been longer, but since it was originally planned to be much, much shorter, I guess I should stop complaining and just let it be. To be honest, if I could have like a couple days of 50 pay edits, Fragments would be ready for publication by next week.

If only I could write first drafts that quickly.

*Which aren’t many, and are probably not the mainstream in american fantasy mainly because third world coutry, and also because poverty.
